Overview/テーマ

 

Our program emphasizes learning and growth through a balance of engaging organized activities and self-directed, free choice exploration. Children learn best through a "hands on" approach which encourages play-based, active involvement with their surroundings. Through play, the child meets new situations, sets out to understand the circumstances, and in the process gains understanding and skill in problem solving.  

 

Our daily schedule includes circle time, story time, free play indoors and outdoors, a variety of organized activties that cultivate Japanese and American culture, all fortified with a healthy homemade lunch and morning and afternoon snacks.

 

コアラチャイルドケアーでは特に幼児期に必要な遊びを重視しております。遊びの中で培われる創造力はIQよりも大切とも言われております。最近の子供たちは創造力が乏しく、それは子供のときに遊びが足りないからとも言われております。幼児期に必要なことは特別なことではありませんが、集団を通して行われることによりより多くの学びがあります。

 

コアラでは小集団という特性を生かして、年齢、個々に応じた保育を提供し、各々の成長発達を促すよう努めております。又、日本語での保育を提供することにより、自然に二カ国語を身につける子供たちが育成されていきます。脳科学の分野でも二ヶ国語を話す子供たちのほうが、一つの言語を話す子供たちよりも柔軟性に対応できる頭脳になると実証されています。

 

又、子供たちが置かれている環境、文化は子供たちの成長に欠かせません。できる限りの日本の文化を提供しつつ、ここアメリカの環境を自然に受け入れるような保育を提供するるよう努めております。
